I stumbled upon this song The Frightnrs many years ago and I instantly became a fan.
The band is from Queens, New York and was signed to Daptone Records. Their style is vintage Jamaican rock steady mixed with 80s Rub A Dub and a little punk vibes. Eventually they caught the attention of Diplo who released a Frightnrs EP on his Mad Decent imprint in 2015.
The lead singer Dan Klien was diagnosed with A.L.S. in 2016 just months after they started recording their first album with Daptone and eventually passed months later.
