A massive protest has been taking place in the "Big Island" of Hawaii over the proposed construction of a 30 foot telescope on the mountain of Mauna Kea. Hundreds of Native Hawaiians and allied protesters have been camped at the base of the mountain, claiming the summit is of great cultural significance representing the birth place of there once nation.

“Jr Gong” is not the only celebrity to show support, native Hawaiian Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as well as fellow reggae star Kabaka Pyramid came out to the site  earlier this week.

I stand with the people of Hawai’i on the lava ground to #ProtectMaunaKea and all people of this planet protecting their indigenous lands and heritage. This was an amazing experience. 3000 people defending their land and culture from corrupt capitalists ✊--✊--✊--✊--✊--✊--✊-- Also I want to salute @queenifrica for championing the cause of #CockpitCountry in Jamaica which is going through a similar situation, we as Jamaicans need to stand up for our rights in love and unity and defend all our lands and people ------------ #kukiaimauna #Hawaii #bigisland #reggaemission @damianmarley @bebblerock #Kontraband
