Grocery Stores with Special Hours for Seniors, Those At-Risk

A lot of stores are opening an hour early so those who are most vulnerable can shop safely.

By now, we've learned COVID-19 is especially dangerious for senior citizens and those with compromised immune systems. The COVID-19 pandemic had everyone rushing to the stores and buying out everything!

As a way to help our senior citizens and those who are more at risk, a lot of stores have a special hour dedicated to just those shoppers. That way those who are fall into this category can shop with a reduced crowd and feel a little more safe.

Big Box Stores with Special Hours:

COSTCO: On Tuesdays & Thursdays, they'll be open from 8am-9am for those age 60 and up. No guests will be admitted.

Target: On Wednesdays, they're reserving the first hour just for "vulnerable guests," which include the elderly and those with underlying health conditions.

Walmart: Every Tuesday through April 28th, they'll open an hour early before the store opens to the public so seniors can shop. Check the location nearest you for store hours.

 

Grocery Stores with special hours:

Albertsons: From 7AM to 9AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays the store will be open for "vulnerable shoppers," which includes pregnant women, senior citizens and those with compromised immune systems.

Barons Market: Daily from 9AM to 10AM, the store will be open to seniors 65+, pregnant women, those with disabilities, and those with underlying health concerns.

Northgate Gonzales Market: Daily from 7AM to 8AM, they'll be open for senior citizens and those that fall within the "vulnerable" group of shoppers.

Ralphs: From 7AM to 7:30AM daily, Ralphs will be open to senior citizens.

Vallarta Supermarkets: Just like Northgate Gonzales market, Vallarta will be open daily from 7AM to 8AM for their "vulnerable guests."

Vons: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7AM to 9AM, the supermarket will be open to senior citizens, pregnant women, those with compromised immune systems, and those considered "vulnerable shoppers."

Whole Foods: They'll be open one hour early every single day to accomodate those who are 60+. Store hours may very from location to location. Check here to find the store nearest you.
