RIP Steve "Grizzly" Nisbett of Steel Pulse

January 19, 2018

Today we lost a legend beyond description, we are absolutely devastated to learn the passing of our dear friend Steve “Grizzly” Nisbett, founding member of Steel Pulse, RIP

Born in Nevis, the eldest of seven children, he left the Caribbean in 1957 at the age of nine and moved to Saltley, Birmingham, England. He started playing drums and percussion as a teenager and after playing in various bands, joined Steel Pulse in 1977. Nisbett retired from the band in 2001 for health reasons and parted ways on good terms.

Steel Pulse were pioneers in reggae coming out of England but also for reggae artists around the world. There message of peace and hope while not being afraid of being albe to confront true problems facing the world was what made them the icons that they are today.
