High five, herbivores! San Diego is one of the cities where Del Taco is currently (and for a limited time) testing Beyond Meat menu items.

Beyond Meat is one of several plant-based, meat-substitute brands popping up on fast-food chain menus. Carl’s Jr. already offers Beyond Meat burgers, and Burger King jumped on the bandwagon with an Impossible Burger earlier this year.

The partnership will bring a vegan Beyond Taco to the chain’s offerings as well as an option for Beyond meat substitution in burritos, nachos and fries at 16 locations in San Diego. Los Angeles and Oklahoma are also getting Beyond meat options.

The price of plant-based tacos won’t be cheap, well, not compared to other menu items. A regular Del Taco taco costs $1.49. The Beyond versions will be available for $2.49.

Participating San Diego locations can be found in Point Loma, Downtown, and Mission Valley. For a full list look here.

We're "Beyond" excited to bring you the future of tacos on 4/25. The question is... are you ready?!
