The Disneyland Resort announced updated policies for the theme parks and Downtown Disney that will take effect May 1, 2019.

According to Disneyland’s FAQ page, the changes are being put in place to “help improve guest flow, ease congestion and make the park experience more enjoyable for everyone who visits.”
The new rules include:

  • Smoking areas will be removed from theme parks and Downtown Disney
  • Stollers must be smaller than 31” (79cm) wide and 52” (132cm) long
  • Wagons and stroller wagons will no longer be allowed
  • Loose and dry ice will not be allowed in the park

The no smoking policy includes electronic cigarettes and vaping. Currently, smoking and vaping are only allowed in the designated areas but that will change as of May 1st to make the parks completely smoke free.

These changes come just before the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land in Disneyland, set to open May 31, 2019 — which will certainly bring the oversized crowds.
