Wednesday is Bob Marley Day (and as a SoCal Bob-loving radio station would do), we'll be spinning your favorite Bob jams all day!.

Reggae icon Bob Marley "Robert Nesta" Marley was born on February 6th, 1945.. He would have been 74-years-old WEDNESDAY.

The artist that always brought us good lyricism, powerful messages, and meaning to the music we listened to celebrates another year of life (although gone, he is the face/icon that launched roots reggae).

Marley helped spread the way of the Rastafari with his powerful music. Highly assocaited with the Rastafari movement, he spent much of his life voicing his opinions through the messages in his lyrics.

Rastas believe one should not cut their hair because it is where their strength lies. Dreadlocks form naturally over time, and Marley is an icon that showed how powerful the music was in showing the world the Rasta-life.

Having been born in Kingston, Jamaica; his home being recognized by UNESCO as a "Creative City of Music". Also known for the birth of reggae music.

Marley remains a legacy in Jamaica with roots reggae always holding a special part of Marley lovers.
