Released on 4.20.20, the San Diego based group Crucial Blend packs some serious heat with their new album and 5th studio release “No Bad Daze” The album has 11 new songs, blending elements of cali reggae with hints of ska, dub, punk and hip hop. When originally naming the album “No Bad Daze” the band had in mind their neighborhood’s unofficial slogan “No Bad Days” referring to the carefree beach lifestyle that Ocean Beach for which it is known. But the album name soon took on a whole different meaning when recording during the coronavirus pandemic, the title now reflects a hopeful end of mass hysteria and return to the old days, pre-pandemic. The album was recorded over the last 6 months in Crucial Blend’s home studio, produced by singer/guitarist Ryan Hughes with Cody Christian on Bass, Adam bucciarelli on Saxophone and the addition of new member DJ Karsh on drums.
